Last week to back Decade Dogs!!
Everything is unlocked so if there’s something you want, you can either pledge for it or get it as an add on! I’ve got enamel pins, stickers, sticker sheets, buttons, and acrylic keychains! Plus if you haven’t already, backing my project as well as Seaside Shenanigans gets you a free enamel pins designed by me! Jennifer is a cocker spaniel from the 70s. She’s very disco inspired since that’s one of my favorite eras of music :) so of course she’s the dog who loves music the most! She listens to it, writes it, and sings it. She even plays acoustic guitar. Jennifer doesn’t appear very social at first but she loves spending time with her friends, even if they’re just chilling while doing their own things. She loves a quiet night in the most but wouldn’t be opposed to going out and dancing every now and then. She makes sure to take time to appreciate everybody and celebrate their differences in styles and tastes.

Emily is kind, crafty, and accessorized! She enjoys photography and learning about new tech. Emily makes sure everyone is included and appreciates uniqueness :3
Her style is inspired by Y2K fashion, frutiger aero aesthetics, as well as styles worn by teens on Disney channel in the 00s. I loveddd layered tank tops and skirts and skirts over jeans lol. Being the most knowledgeable about technology in the group, she’s the one who either created or discovered the time travel machine (design is still in the works 👀) that the decade dogs use to meet up with each other and hang out. Emily’s design is the most nostalgic to me personally so I’m really glad you guys seem to like her and the rest of the Decade Dogs!

Wow guys! I’m totally blown away by all your support these last few weeks! I never expected this to happen, especially so fast! I’m really thankful for all of you sticking around through the ups and downs of my first ever crowdfunding campaign and I’m super excited for you all to get your pins! Now that Decade Dogs is fully funded, every character has been unlocked at once so your fave is now guaranteed. there’s plenty of time left to pledge if you haven’t already. :) Remember, cards don’t get charged until the campaign ends on February 12th 

I’m working on even more fun surprises for this campaign so keep an eye out for more updates in these last 13 days!

Since you all voted for Ashley to be featured in the next update, here’s some more info about her!

Ashley is super nice and talkative and tries to get along with everyone! She knows the best way to cheer someone up and gets stressed when she can’t be the one to mediate an argument. If you’re looking for her, she’s probably at the mall! She loves the variety of different stores and food vendors. Similar to Jessica, her style is also influenced by teen magazines. (but from the 90s this time!) she loves bright colors and busy patterns. Ashley can be seen as childish at times but she can’t help her love for handheld video games and collecting stickers. She really admires Lisa’s talents and likes to play games with Jessica.

I was being kind of a downer in my last update but there’s still things to celebrate.
We hit 1k! That’s a lot for my first crowdfunding campaign. And I couldn’t have done it without you!
We have 50 backers! That’s a lot of people 🥳 

And now, we’re 85% funded! That’s super close. We’re also super close to “unlocking” Ashley! I know she’s a lot of your guys’ favorite 😊 (even though technically all 6 pins will unlock at once.. oops) 

I also want to start sharing some backstories behind Decade Dogs and all six characters. 

Originally the pin designs were feral (on four legs) dogs but the designs were a little too complicated for a first timer like me so I turned them into the stickers instead! You can get those designs as either a pledge or an add on to your existing pledge. 

Anyway, I used my choice in design change to incorporate a third interest of mine on top of animals and different time periods: fashion!
The characters being anthropomorphic lets me dress them up in their unique clothing styles.

I collect fashion dolls and toys so some big inspirations for these character designs are Pinkie Cooper, Littlest Pet Shop, and Bratz.

And since Jessica was the most voted for on the last poll, I’m going to share some information on her here. 

Her style is influenced by clothes I found in ads for cassette players and fashion in real magazines from the 80s! I also wanted her clothes to let her move around easily since she’s the sportiest of the group. She can get real competitive when she’s skateboarding or playing video games at the arcade. Her intensity can make her kind of intimidating but i promise she’s a real softie and is always there for her friends. :) 

I hope i can flesh out these characters some more as time goes on. Originally I wanted to make a small zine or mini comic that people could purchase as an add on and learn more about my characters. I’m still coming up with the Decade Dog’s origin story and I didn’t want to rush the process. As always, you can follow me on my socials to stay updated on things like that and when I do finish it, I’ll have it available on my regular online shop and at conventions so I can yap about my characters in person.
